Where to begin with your New Year's resolutions

31 days into the new year and I have barely made a dent on my 2017 resolutions.

Do you find yourself in the same predicament? Are you ready to get healthy this year, but have no idea where to start? I will assume you are shaking your head yes to these questions and continue on...

So where do we start? If it was a piece of cake (no pun intended) to change our eating and exercise habits everyone would do it. Below are some quick and easy tips to get you started on your healthy journey in 2017!

1. What you eat plays a huge role in your overall success - when thinking of both diet and exercise you should be following the 80/20 rule. Experts say, that while exercise is important, the food you fuel your body with will aid in your overall fat loss. Abs are made in the kitchen!

2. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail - it's cliche but so true. Sunday's are for rest and football in my house but as of late I have started prepping some healthy food options for the week ahead. I am out of the house 12 hours every day which as you can imagine is a long time to go without food in general. Can you say hangry?

Each morning I pack a bag with breakfast, lunch, and a few snacks to keep me going throughout the day. Overwhelmed with the thought of meal prepping? Get started here: How to Food Prep - 5 Tips for Beginners".

3. Consistency - you are going to have great days, weeks, and months. There will, however, come a day when you give into your cravings and guess what...that's OK! The most important thing is to be consistent with your nutrition and exercise. If you fall off the bike get right back on and keep pedaling.

I hope the above is helpful and you find yourself getting closer to your 2017 goals. For all things, health, wellness, & cycling keep reading each week!

Happy Riding
